Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Department of Pediatric Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty member to provide teaching, research, scholarly activities, and patient care.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical teaching of dental students and residents, scholarly activity, service, research and participation in intramural faculty practice, including hospital-based practice.
Required Qualifications:
DDS / DMD degree or foreign equivalent
A certificate in pediatric dentistry from an ADA accredited program
Eligible or certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Eligible for licensure in Virginia
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member
Demonstrated ability to contribute to, advocate for, and participate in a humanistic environment of learning
Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and embrace modern technology
If tenure eligibility is desired, for an appointment at the rank of the assistant profession, the candidate will be required to have an established research agenda and a clear potential for external funding, and potential for a scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the department
For an appointment at the rank associate professor, the candidate will be required to have a well-developed scholarly research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer a history of clinical practice care, academic teaching and scholarly activity
Employees working in or with VCUHealth in any capacity will be required to comply with all relevant health system policies and procedures, including the health system's vaccination requirements.
