IHA and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) have an excellent part-time opportunity for an experienced Dentist to serve as Associate Program Director and Clinical Director for the General Practice Dental Residency Program located in Pontiac, Michigan.

Responsibilities for this opportunity include:

• Work collaboratively with the Program Director in all aspects of administration of the residency program, including orientation, evaluations, teaching (didactic and clinical), curriculum development and resident recruitment
• Supervise resident clinical work, liaise with volunteer teaching dentists, and provide direct dental care, in both office and operating room
• Evaluate and provide both verbal and written feedback to trainees
• Participate in divisional, departmental and hospital meetings
• Maintain competency with computer system documentation and billing processes
• Work with office staff, reception and clinical, to achieve optimization of patient experience to include scheduling, billing, and clinical care.
• Develop policies and procedures for the dental clinic staff, dental hygienists, and residents compliant with CODA
• Provide hospital consultation supervision for the ED and inpatient urgent dental needs
• Coordinate care with specialty oral surgeon attending providers
• Remain current in dental education best practice through continuing education opportunities

Minimum requirements for this opportunity include:

• Graduate of an accredited US Dental School (DMD or DDS)
• Completion of postgraduate training program in General Practice Residency
• Five or more years of experience
• Full licensure for State of Michigan
• BLS certified
