This announcement will be open until a selection is made. This position is located at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) located in Tulsa OK. Patient population includes medically compromised, outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients. Incumbent must be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, including but not limited to implants, restorative, fixed and removable prosthetics, periodontics, oral surgery-surgical extractions and pre-prosthetic surgery, endodontics both anterior and molar root canal therapy. Incumbent examines, diagnosis and develops treatment plans, and provides a full range of dental care. Incumbent is responsible for providing the complete range of dental care listed above to patients. The incumbent must provide timely, accurate and complete record documentation utilizing the computerized medical record system. Provides appropriate consults and referrals to medical and dental specialists.-Maintains current certification in BLS and if required ACLS to provide emergency medical management.-Must possess computer skills, have good work ethics and be a team player. The incumbent will provide education and training to members of the medical and dental staff through various conferences, committees and lecture series. The incumbent may be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational and administrative committees, task groups or special projects. Responsible for attending department, facility and education meetings that occur before and after clinic hours. This position will require excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to triage, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of urgent and chronic dental problems in a patient population with a high percentage of medically compromised individuals. The incumbent will comply with processes and procedures including infection control, OSHA guidelines, x-rays and oral health education, knowledge and application of HIPPA/Security regulations, and in compliance with VHA policy.
